Introduction

This blog exists so I can leak out my frustrations with the current economic environment, document my job search, and maybe keep track of the positions I’ve applied to recently.  It may be helpful to readers who will graduate soon (or who have already done so), or other job searchers.  Who knows – maybe a potential employer will see it as well.

First, some ground rules.  I will not mention any firms or people by their real names; this would be a good way to get a lot of bad karma and worse litigation if things go that way.  I will use aliases and try to keep them straight.

Second, this blog will not be devoted solely to professional goodness like job hunting, recruiting and hiring tips (I’ve been a recruiter, too), investment research and the other topics that I expect people want to hear about.  It will also be devoted to the occasional personal post, perhaps about small-boat sailing, rat ownership, relationship maintenance and the joys of writing.  Ostensibly, however, the purpose of this blog is to detail the job hunt.

If I come up with other rules, this post will be edited accordingly.
